The site comprised an active aquatic centre that had been built into a steep hillside. Investigations were spatially limited due in part to the existing buildings, pool and pavements and identified asbestos containing material on/in soil on the wider aquatic centre property.
Following the phased investigations undertaken at the site by JKE to allow for time and access constraints, the RAP included a robust Data Gap Investigation (DGI) process to close out uncertainty in the areas previously inaccessible. Due to the identification of asbestos on/in fill, an operational AMP was developed for continued day to day use of the site as an aquatic centre, and a construction phase AMP was developed for implementation during the proposed construction and remediation phases.
