Project challenges
The proposal, to relocate the school, involved a state significant development (SSD) application that required a site contamination assessment. Investigations were undertaken while the primary school was operating, which required appropriate health and safety controls and a number of phases of investigation. JKE’s reports were subject to review by a NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA)-accredited contaminated site auditor.
Our solutions
Consultation between JKE and other project stakeholders facilitated the completion of numerous investigation phases, both during and outside of the school’s operating hours. Investigations were designed to minimise disruption while meeting deadlines and project milestones.
JKE prepared a remediation action plan (RAP), which was endorsed by the site auditor.
